If you love a good little getaway to the countryside so you can forget about everything then carry on reading, you are going to love this!
Although it looks quite wet and dreary here but trust me it brightened up! About a month ago me and Harry decided to have a look online and see if there was anywhere we could go to, to have a little retreat and getaway for a couple days! Also, as it is getting close to valentines day we thought why not?!
Even though, it was cold it made it feel even cosier. I mean you can’t really moan when you wake up to this view every morning with a cuppa. It was lush!!!
We were lucky to find this place as it gets booked up fast. It was a little Sheperds Retreat in Somerset in the heart of the countryside. I can’t explain how perfect it was to just chill out and also a very good place to practice your photography… you will see on my Instagram that I milked this opportunity massively, haha!
The hut was kitted out with everything that we needed. It was so clean, and the little things like tea, coffee and milk everything you need to be happy. They gave us a few films to watch aswell, however that was all, there wasn’t a ariel for the TV so we couldn’t watch normal TV. Which really wasn’t much of an issue as we had our laptops to glue our eyes to netflix for the weeknd, haha.
The little hut was so cute and cosy and definitely inspired me to have my own one day. I think it would be so cute to have one of these as a little project and designing it all. It also helped that the bed was memory foam which boosted the rating massively! Unfortunately, we only found the heating on the second day so the first night was a little chilly…
Plenty cups of teas were drank on this trip, and it was nice to just have a place you could feel safe and enjoy each others company. Also, the perfect place for bloggy photos!!!
I always think there is nothing more relaxing than a getaway. It gave me a weekend to forget about all the university work that I should be getting on with, oooopps! Makes you realise that you don’t always have to go out of the country to enjoy yourself and see some sights, the UK will never fail to surprise me.
On the first night we had a camembert to start with some toasted tiger bread, and then a steak and ale pie for dinner with mash! You don’t get more comfort food than that. Oh, and I forgot the chocolate and the extra things that we stuffed ourselves with hence the smiling faces.
From the outside the Hut didn’t look too big, but once we went in it was really spacious and you didn’t feel like you were confined or struggling for room, especially when I had moved everything from my bedroom inside haha. Obviously Harry just had the one bag, typical lad. However, very ideal so it meant I could bring more lol.
The kitchen was the perfect size and kitted out with all the kitchen utensils that you needed for your stay. All the little details were thought of which was amazing.
The view personally I think was the best part, apart from the company obviously, haha! Waking up to that every morning would just be the dream. So peaceful especially as it was so quiet it was like we were the only two people there.
There were five more huts positioned around the lake so that they all had a great view, but I still think ours was the best. It was just so cute. I think if we go back we might try another hut though just to see what they are like they are all the same size but they have different decor.
To finish the weekend off we thought why not set a fire up, and get some marshmallows toasting, and it just wouldn’t be right to forget the glass of rose! Harry was slightly obsessed over the fire whilst I just sat there watching 10 things I hate about you, but what are boyfriends for ay…
All I can say is this was the best weekend by far! It was amazing and we took plenty of photos so don’t worry there will be plenty more to come. It is lovely having your own little photographer with you haha!
I hope you liked this post, if you have been anywhere like this let me know in the comments I love little getaways!
Thanks for reading it means a lot,
