After being a complete blob over the festive season, and depriving myself of the gym. I have decided to do a post dedicated to the start date of my health kick and getting healthy again. Also, I am booking a holiday soon so this is the main motivation for me.
I have alway’s fluctuated in my weight and now I have just hit that wall where I just don’t feel like I am losing anything. But, I thought this year has to be the year!
I got my fitbit charge 2 last year, which gave me the motivation to start getting back into the gym. It allows you to set your goals that you are aiming for and also the weight loss that you would like to see.
It shows me how many calories that I have burnt throughout the day and also how many miles I have either walked or ran for. It just gives you that little more motivation as you see what you are achieving.
This screen just tells me that I have been active for 45 minutes today, and that I have done 6 out of 8 hours of being active, even if that is just say moving, haha. If you need some motivation to get moving I recommend a fitbit as it also gives you a nudge if you haven’t moved in a while, which is quite funny.
This year I am determined to try loads of new things and get into eating healthier, because let’s be honest it doesn’t take that long to just cook up something quick and healthy.
This book for me has been a godsend, and me and my family have been trying loads of recipes out of here in the week, those are the ones that have the red tag on them. He includes pre and post workout recipes that you can try. Also he has a few treats in the back that are still good for you but feel a bit unhealthy.
This was one of his recipes that I made, it was called Chorizo Chicken and mozzarella, with pine nuts on top. I love any recipe that has spinach in so I knew I would like it even before trying it. It was full of flavour and nice and light and it only took, me about 25 mins to make overall.
This is another one that we had and it was Chicken and Potato Hash, it has a poached egg on top which made it. Also, it included Mangetout which is also one of my faves to have in my dinner.
My favourite one of his recipes though has to be his “In a Hurry Curry Rice”.
This is so quick to make probs about 15 minutes. It is tasty and not too spicy although you can make it to how you like.
I alway’s find when you make something from scratch it feels healthier and you don’t feel guilty after it which is a bonus.
Lastly, I am starting to prep my lunches now that I am back at uni. It makes it easier so I can eat it when I have time and know that it is healthy. As it is quite difficult to find something healthy quick and easy from a store. I made this with Red peppers, Mangetout, Babycorn, Basmati Rice, Chicken and Seasoning. Sound plain I know but it is very healthy. I worked out the calories and it worked out at 265 calories for each pot, and is enough to fill you up over lunch. I loved getting this all prepped up and it makes me feel happier knowing that I have my lunch sorted for the next two days at uni.
I am going to be trying plenty more prep recipes so if I try any that were nice I will write up some more posts on them. If you have any healthy recipes that I could try let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading,
